Our latest Gringo S helmet not only meets DOT regulations in the US, but it also complies with the new European ECE 22.06 regulations. This old favorite has been updated with a new fit and new features, ensuring enhanced comfort and protection.
The shield mechanism now utilizes the same anti-rattle closure found on our Lane Splitter helmets, providing a secure and reliable closure. The helmet features three shell sizes, an improvement from the previous two, allowing for a more accurate and comfortable fit, especially in the Medium and XXL sizes. It is essential to consult the revised sizing chart before ordering a new helmet to ensure the appropriate fit.
The injection-molded ABS outer shell is lightweight yet highly resistant to impacts, while the new Dual Density expanded polystyrene (EPS) internal safety shell absorbs and dissipates impact energy without compromising comfort. The BioFoam head form panel and ventilated polyester padding maximize airflow around the head, ensuring coolness and comfort.
The molded urethane chin bar pad dissipates energy during front impact, providing additional protection. The chin strap features brushed fleece Lycra touchpoints for comfort, and a double D-ring retention system with a red quick-release pull tab for speedy removal. The removable or replaceable comfort liner and cheek pads are constructed with fleece Lycra and open-cell foam padding, which helps to absorb and evaporate perspiration.
The CE-certified injection-molded polycarbonate shield features anti-fog and anti-scratch treatments for durability and safety. The rugged hinge hardware with robust detents allows you to ride with the shield open at slow speeds to increase cooling airflow. Anodized aluminum washers and stainless-steel hinge screws can be swapped with different colors and finishes to personalize the look of your helmet, available separately. The molded EPS ear pockets are designed to accommodate select aftermarket audio accessories.
The Gringo S helmet is both US DOT FMVSS No. 218 compliant and ECE R22.06 certified, ensuring it meets the latest safety standards in both the United States and Europe.
