Biltwell GS Shields are replacement shields for Biltwell GS helmets, available in two styles - bubble or flat. These shields are injection-molded with highly scratch- and impact-resistant polycarbonate thermoplastic and feature an all-new baseplate kit with an improved mechanism for three open positions. The anti-fog treatment on the shield interior fights moisture build-up, ensuring maximum optical clarity.
The construction of these shields includes: - Injection-molded scratch- and impact-resistant polycarbonate thermoplastic - Nickel-plated stainless-steel snap that fastens securely to the helmet shell
Both tinted and mirrored finishes are available: - Colored shields feature in-mold tint technology - Mirrored shields feature reflective coating in a variety of surface finishes to reduce glare
For safety, every shield color and style provides 91% UV/A and 99% UV/B light resistance based on the AATCC-138 test standard.
To clean the shield, use a mild soapy water solution and a microfiber cloth to loosen bugs and road debris, then dry it with a second clean microfiber towel. Avoid using harsh household or petroleum-based chemicals, as they can damage the shield's special coatings. If the retainer snap becomes tight or sticky, apply a drop of general-purpose light household oil to the inside. Additionally, apply a drop of medium-strength blue thread-locker to the threads of both hinge screws every time a shield is installed.
Please note that these shields will not work with the new ECE R22.06 Gringo S and Gringo SV helmets, as the closure mechanism has been updated.
