Our latest Gringo S helmet not only meets DOT regulations in the US, but it also complies with the new European ECE 22.06 regulations. This old favorite has been updated with a new fit and new features, offering enhanced safety and comfort.
The shield mechanism now utilizes the same anti-rattle closure system featured on our Lane Splitter helmets, providing a secure and seamless experience. To improve fit and comfort, the helmet now comes in three shell sizes, replacing the previous two. This means the fit is more accurate, especially in the Medium and XXL sizes. Before ordering a new helmet, please refer to our revised sizing chart to ensure the perfect fit.
The injection-molded ABS outer shell is lightweight and highly resistant to impacts, while the new Dual Density expanded polystyrene (EPS) internal safety shell absorbs and dissipates impact energy without compromising comfort. The BioFoam head form panel and ventilated polyester padding maximize airflow around your head, ensuring coolness and comfort during your rides.
The molded urethane chin bar pad effectively dissipates energy during frontal impacts. The chin strap features brushed fleece Lycra touchpoints for added comfort, and a double D-ring retention system with a red quick-release pull tab for speedy removal.
The removable or replaceable comfort liner and cheek pads are constructed with fleece Lycra and open-cell foam padding, designed to absorb and evaporate perspiration, keeping you cool and comfortable.
The CE-certified injection-molded polycarbonate shield features anti-fog and anti-scratch treatments, ensuring durability and safety. The rugged hinge hardware with robust detents allows you to ride with the shield open at slower speeds, increasing cooling airflow. Anodized aluminum washers and stainless-steel hinge screws can be swapped with different colors and finishes, enabling you to personalize the look of your helmet (available separately).
Lastly, the molded EPS ear pockets are designed to accommodate select aftermarket audio accessories, providing a seamless integration for your listening needs.
This helmet is both US DOT FMVSS No. 218 compliant and ECE R22.06 certified, ensuring it meets the highest safety standards in both the US and Europe.
