Our latest Gringo S helmet not only meets DOT regulations in the US, but it also complies with the new European ECE 22.06 regulations. This helmet features a new fit and enhanced capabilities, making it an old favorite with a fresh twist.
The shield mechanism now utilizes the same anti-rattle closure system found in our Lane Splitter helmets, providing a secure and reliable closure. The helmet's design has been updated with three shell sizes, replacing the previous two, to ensure improved fit and comfort, particularly in the Medium and XXL sizes. We recommend checking the measurements in our revised sizing chart before ordering a new helmet to ensure a proper fit.
The injection-molded ABS outer shell is lightweight yet highly resistant to impacts, while the new Dual Density expanded polystyrene (EPS) internal safety shell absorbs and dissipates impact energy without compromising comfort. The BioFoam head form panel and ventilated polyester padding work together to maximize airflow around your head, ensuring coolness and comfort during your rides.
The molded urethane chin bar pad is designed to dissipate energy during front-impact collisions. The chin strap features brushed fleece Lycra touchpoints for added comfort, and a double D-ring retention system with a red quick-release pull tab for speedy removal.
The removable or replaceable comfort liner and cheek pads are constructed with fleece Lycra and open-cell foam padding to absorb and evaporate perspiration, enhancing the overall wearing experience.
The CE-certified injection-molded polycarbonate shield boasts anti-fog and anti-scratch treatments, ensuring durability and safety. The rugged hinge hardware with robust detents allows you to ride with the shield open at slower speeds to increase cooling airflow. Additionally, the anodized aluminum washers and stainless-steel hinge screws can be swapped with different colors and finishes to personalize the look of your helmet, available separately.
The molded EPS ear pockets are designed to accommodate select aftermarket audio accessories, providing a convenient solution for integrating communication systems into your riding experience.
The Gringo S helmet is both US DOT FMVSS No. 218 compliant and ECE R22.06 certified, ensuring it meets the rigorous safety standards in both the United States and Europe.
